REASONS FOR OUR PROGRAM ACCREDITATION WITH AUGUSTINE UNIVERSITY

  • With full collaboration with Augustine University, our students would be proud that their certificates are being given by a Catholic university.

  • Our school as we speak is the only catholic school that is offering a diploma program in church music in Nigeria. Collaborating with A u g u s t i n e University for our accreditation would create more awareness of the existence of both the university and the school to all the catholic churches in Nigeria in gaining more students for admission in the various fields of choice that the university is offering to catholic students.

  • Augustine University would in future create a department of music to expand the scope of the university. Our catholic music school can become a springboard for the creation of the music department in Augustine University in the nearest future. Both our school and the university would enjoy a beautiful synergy of music collaboration in this regard. While our graduating students can proceed to 300 level of music for a degree in the bachelor of music in Augustine University, the university would be proud to admit students with strong music foundation from our school. This is what MUSON is enjoying with their affiliation with the University of Lagos. The diploma students of MUSON after graduation proceed to 300 level in the University of Lagos for a degree program.

Our program now has the full weight of accreditation with Augustine University of great repute so as to enable our student's benefit beyond the church and pastoral setting and also be relevant in the larger society. Below therefore are the reasons why our school is affiliated with Augustine University
  • In additionapart from the affiliation with Augustine University, our school also enjoys partnerships with Victoria University, Toronto, Canada and the University of Toronto, Canada. These benefactors are making every effort to promote expertise in pastoral music in Nigeria. The two Universities from Canada would be sending their delegates next year by God's grace to visit the school and by extension Augustine University. Two of our students and one of our seasoned lecturers are being sent abroad to further their studies in masters degree in ritual Chants and songs on full scholarship in the university of Limerick, Ireland. The school also would be recommending some of our students after graduation to the university of Toronto, Canada on full scholarship to further their studies in masters of pastoral music as well

  • Conclusion: It is my desired hope that our catholic youths, lovers of music and those interested in developing their music talents would find our school a right place of choice. St. Gregory school through the diploma program would be glad to convert your music talents and interests into career opportunities and professional music leadership and be proud to serve as a citadel of learning, developing, integrating and promoting the role of music in liturgical worship and other music settings in Lagos Archdiocese, Nigeria, Africa and beyond.

  • Our maiden concert is meant to announce the establishment of this great school so our catholic youth can benefit from this program.
